Bladed Pinions by SteveArgyle Bladed Pinions by SteveArgyle
Icarus's baby sister learned from his folly, and made her wings out of a titanium-awesominium alloy. Bugger that wing-melting sun. Bugger it right in the nostril.

Later in life, like her brother, her engineering genius would prove her undoing when, to avenge Icarus, she invented the "Star Murderer Interstellar Revenge Missile."

For Magic: the Gathering. Copyright Wizards of the Coast. Art directed by Jeremy Jarvis.

Wing polishing provided by "Rub It, Buff It, Love It! Novelty Services Inc." (Currently under investigation for solicitation.)

I smiled at the wing polishing a god killing jokes in the descriptions.
But Seriously, i think this is only the second human-ish woman you've drawn that has a dark brown skin tone. All the others appear to be light skinned Eurasians. So more diversity, please?

I have that card... All 3 of them fit perfectly in my G/W Cat deck. I've always loved the artwork, but seeing it nice and big like this is ten times better!! Steve, you have some serious talent and a wicked sense of humour.. :D Keep it up!

They would look so awesome for the first few seconds of flight, while she's diving off that spire with the sun at her back, until the laws of physics reassert themselves and she plummets, screaming, to the ground where she is sliced up by her own stupid wings.

She's humanoid and not naked! :O I was looking at this card last night with my boyfriend, he was complaining about creatures with the human sub-type not looking human and this was one of the one's he pulled out. I pointed to the figure in the middle (he claims it's too bloody small on the card), and now I feel validated. :P

I came looking for the alt art of the new lilliana so i can make that neck-corset/lace/thingymabobajigger, and found the support for argument. Champion.

I just adore these wings! The feathers are beautifully rendered, and look like they could double as weapons! The shapes are graceful and awesome, and the coloring surprisingly delicate for a set of massive knives. Love her golden-y skin tones too.

Hello.
I like your art. I would like to know how did you become a Magic: the Gathering artist? Did you just send them your work or did they find you and asked you to draw to MTG cards? :)

And I bet all she's thinking right now is 'Sure is lonely up here, wish I had a book."

Love the iridescent blade wings, bet they're hell to put on.

And then "I wish I didn't live on Mirrodin, where the books, like everything else, have turned to metal. If it weren't bad enough that now a 'paperback' weighs forty pounds, flipping a page is like trying to sort a stack of razor blades."

I would expect Mirrodin to be a little more technologically advanced, I mean they've got the steelshaper magics of the auriok and Leonin, they should be better off than that-one-plane-I-can't-recall-that's-all-blue.

Having a book made of razor blades would be time consuming which, given her circumstance, I really don't think she's mind.

True. I think Mirrodin has entirely switched to Kindles anyway. Less metal book paper cuts.

Producing awesominium involves the harvest and smelting of the back hair of a greater fiend of the Abyss. The process is considered a difficult art form, and the details are not well known. Not so much because it's a well-guarded secret, as much as folks who try to perfect the mixture have kind of a short carreer. Lifespan.
